5buxs.cn fail

I tried this out last year and was eligible to cash out.

However it turns out to be another scam website as today this is what I see when I got to the website 5buxs.cn.

Website slowed down by ads

Granted today's connection is quite slow but loading my commonly visited sites like my blog, petaling street.org, 5xmom, liewcf etc all loads with tolerable speed.

However one HongKiat.com took a long time to load. Looking at the bottom of the browser I can see that it's the ads that slows the site down. The header has already loaded meaning the browser has already connected to the website and completely downloaded the initial html code.

But since the ads have not loaded all I see is the header.

 

BuySellAds.com seems to be holding back the website in addition to a host of other ads such as tribalfusion.com. Perhaps it's just my connection.

Anyway after a full 2 minutes the website finally loaded. That's an eternity for me :)

Cameron Highland rains

Some people hate the rain. I don't.

Particularly now when it rainsin Cameron Highlands, it becomes cooler than it usually is.

Some locals in Cameron Highlands have complained about Camerons not being cold as it used to be because of rapid development in the highlands.

I agree. I used to wear long sleeves or sweater during the nights here in Camerons but nowadays I don't need to. (Perhaps is the extra layer of fats I accumulated over the years :) )

Anyway, the rain brings the temperature down to where it was originally.

Blogging on a netbook in Cameron Highlands

Blogging on a brand new Asus 1000HE netbook.

I'm in a cafe in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands called Rosette Cafe.

Pretty nice and of course it has WiFi which I'm using to post this blog post.

Food is great too. Recommended!

Exabytes an hour later

Looks like they are fixing the problems and more services are up but I still can't access the MySQL database which means my Wordpress blog is still down.

Exabytes down again

My main domain at Exabytes is down again. At least I can still log in to CPanel to see what's going on

Looks like the MySQL server service is down among others. :(

5buxs - can make money or not?

Joined this click-an-ad for 2 cents program called 5buxs. After 4 days I have: USD 2.00

I just saw someone blog about 5buxs.cn so I joined to find out what's this Pay Per Click program is all about.

Apparently you will be served an ad for 20 seconds and after that you earn 2 cents for that. You then click on other ads and go thru the "stare at the ad" process again. 2 cents is definitely not much but it's the referral program is where programs like this attract people and I guess that's their main revenue model.

For example, I entered a "what-if" scenario where I got 5 people referred under me.

That's USD 189.00 per month. Not bad. But that's assuming all my 5 referrals are active participants and click on ads everyday and there are at least 18 ads available everyday. I will try this program out and report back later to see if program is even worth anybody's time.

LiewCF making money on auto-pilot

Liew was gone for almost a month and according to his latest post, he still make almost the same amount from his monthly online income.

That's truly auto-pilot earnings in my books. Of course according to him it's the momentum of his 3000 posts he has written and if he stops he feels that the income will drop. Still, to earn the same amount while doing nothing for one whole month is a great feat for passive income!

Finally, Prof Andrew Ooi is knocked down

Professor Andrew Ooi website has finally fallen from No. 1 postition to no.2 yesterday.

After almost a year of trying, I finally took back the no.1 spot for Google Search for my own name - Andrew Ooi.

I still take 5/10 positions on the first page but the prof is still holding on to a strong no.2 and no.3 position. The next few months I want to take over those 2 positions also!! It's a matter of time ...
